The initial call to the property was for raccoon feces removal in North York. This may not seem like an important job but the danger of raccoon feces is severe. The feces itself is highly toxic and just breathing it in when it is a little bit dry can cause spores of raccoon roundworm to enter your lungs. From there they will grow and travel through your bloodstream to your brain where they will cause Alzheimer-like symptoms. For this reason, the feces of a raccoon must be removed by a trained professional.
The exterior inspection found feces from a raccoon at the side of the house on stones used to drain water. This location was where the largest amount of feces was however there was a second location with some feces that needed to be removed, sterilized, and deodorized.
The initial measures taken by the technician included removing the feces and placing them in a bag. To ensure the roundworm spores are dead the technician must then spray the area with a hospital-grade botanical sterilizer that is safe for humans and animals as well as plants. The technician will then deodorize the area. The deodorizer is not made the area smell neutral but in some cases, it can have the effect of erasing the raccoon’s mark on the area. Latrines occur repeatedly because the raccoon knows its smell. By taking this smell away the raccoon may not return to the site.
In conclusion, the process was highly effective in riding the customer off the raccoon feces and has since been free of raccoon’s defecating on the property. The area is sterilized and deodorized and the raccoon has not returned since.
