Another effective way to keep raccoons off your property is to make it impossible for the animals to den. So, make sure that there are no gaps on the edges of your deck. Add wooden boards or screw a mesh between steps so they can’t get inside. The same goes for sheds, crawlspaces, and other structures. You want to make it impossible for a raccoon to squeeze itself into an enclosed space. Next comes the attic. Check that there are no gaps along the edges of your roof, then secure the vents by covering them in mesh.
